What We Do
Our Impact
Through tree climbing, research facilitation, and reforestation projects, we continue to find creative ways in which to connect our local community with conservation. So far, we have helped over 500 students access the canopy, as well as have supported more than a dozen canopy research projects. We have planted over 500 trees with our community, and continue to conduct research on and care for saplings throughout the year.
Through this work, we hope to help future generations foster a love and respect for the nature that surrounds them, and provide them with the tools and skills to protect it.
Conservation
This may sound odd... but our goal isn't to plant as many trees as possible. Our main goal is to connect our local community with reforestation and other modes of conservation. We value quality over quantity, monitoring and caring for the young trees in their first few years of life to give them the best possible chance of survival. We aim to teach and empower our community to take part in reforestation projects. The more people who are connected to and invested in the well-being of the saplings we plant, the better their chances of surviving and growing into a forest.
Education
Education is the main focus of all our programs. We believe the biggest impact we can have is to inspire future generations to care for nature. By bringing children and youth into the canopy, we provide them with unique opportunities to connect with the forest. It is from this connection that love blossoms and from this love comes the desire to conserve and protect that which is precious.
Community
We believe that by bringing conservation opportunities to our community we can encourage a culture of conservation. We want to inspire our community to connect with nature and help create opportunities for reciprocity.
Research
The better we understand our environment, the better we can care for it. We are honored to use our love of climbing trees to aid those who are interested in studying and monitoring the canopies of the cloud forest. Research provides us with new methods of viewing and tending to our local ecosystems. Our goal is to provide vertical access to the treetops and encourage curiosity and deeper exploration of what some scientists call "the last biotic frontier".
